Cost effective lignin‑based carbon fibres for innovative light‑weight applications

STFI is working as a non-profit research institution with textile and nonwoven producers as well as several manufacturers of textile machinery and nonwoven plants.

During the weaving process, the weaving machine interlaces the yarns in the lengthwise direction of the fabric (warp) and the yarns crossing the warp, known as weft according to a specific weave pattern in order to form the fabric structure.

The yarns are supplied to the weaving machine on a loom beam.
